Royal Visit gets the Thumbs up!

Ledgard Jepson was honoured recently after being approached by one of its clients, The School of Artisan Food, to assist with a prestigious Royal event.

As a client of ours since it was first opened in 2008, we were thrilled to learn that his Royal Highness The Prince Of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were to visit The School of Artisan Food on 25 January. Arriving by helicopter into the grounds of the Welbeck Estate, the Prince and Duchess were shown around the school, which is located in a newly-renovated building on the estate close to Welbeck Abbey and even took in a Butchery class, given by River Cottage Butcher, Ray Smith

As part of the proceedings The Prince of Wales unveiled a commemorative plaque specially commissioned by Ledgard Jepson from Carr’s Silversmiths of Sheffield. Speaking at the unveiling, Co-founder of the school Gareth Kennedy said: “We are immensely proud to have hosted a royal visit, and it was incredible honour to show the prince and the duchess around our school. It was a truly exciting day for everyone and we would like to thank Ledgard Jepson for their support and Carr’s of Sheffield for the stunning plaque which now takes pride of place in our reception area.”

Our latest LJ collaborative project saw, South African photographer Sean Knott, join us on a client visit to Egypt. This colourful country provided an amazing backdrop for Sean to get some fantastic shots for our client as well as capture some great images of the local neighbourhoods and people. It was a great experience and Sean came back with hundreds of stunning pictures to choose from, we asked him to pick out some of his personal favourites.

Fashion Fix

Meadowhall shopping centre’s first ever October Fashion Month has just come to a close and we were really chuffed to have created the brand identity for this fantastic event. Featuring a vintage boutique, style advice, celeb charity auctions and catwalk shows it was a real celebration of everything ‘fashion’ and attracted people from far and wide  - plus a whole load of press too!

Information Architects have released their latest web trends map… and it’s as lovely as the last. This one is based on the 140 most influential twitter users.

Not so Bored-room

After harping on about Sheffield artist, George Law on our website and Twitter for the last four months, both parties can honestly say that they have mutually benefit from the experience. George is now busier than ever and going from strength to strength. He has even moved out of his parents home and set up up shop on his own. We cannot possibly take all the credit for this as George is a very talented designer, illustrator and graphic designer and has worked extremely hard over the last six months building his own profile. However, The LJ collaborative has certainly helped him along with many of our client now following him on Twitter and working with him directly. Follow George on twitter.com/getaloadageo

Following on from this collaboration we had a call from another local artist keen for us to provide him with a large wall canvas to go crazy on.  Nick Deakin is an artist based in Sheffield and has worked in all over the wordl on some high profile campaigns for Coke and Shell. Nick is currently showing his work off in many areas of the city and has a loyal base of followers and admirers. Must be his beard. After meeting with Nick we agreed the best place to let him free was on our boardroom wall. We had a it painted black in preparation for his arrival. The brief was simple. ‘You know who we are so knock y’self out.’

Only he knows how many white pens he depleted but we can only assume that Sharpie had to increase production that week and employ extra workforce to cope with the demand.

LJ collaborative is great way to get new and established artists together for an enjoyable design experience. After which we can all shout about it in as many ways as humanly possible which builds the profile of everybody involved. It’s impossible to calculate the possibilities of Twitter in all of this but it is proving to work pretty well so far. Just ask George. And in a few months you can ask Nick. Thanks fellas.
